Elfen Lied: ANIME REVIEW

Image
How do you pronounce this anime's title? Is it /leid or /leed or /lead? There are a lot of people arguing about this. It is even a discussion topic on My Anime List. My answer: This anime's title takes its name from a German song that is featured in it. That's why, in my opinion, we should stick to the German pronunciation which would be /elfen leed, and when you translate it into English you get the title of the anime I am reviewing today, "Elve's Song". But because Elve's Song sounds kinda strange I'll keep on saying Elfen Lied.   Plot and Story Line  Imagine now you live in a world where mutated homosapien beings called Diclonius exist. Sounds really creepy but looks so amazing and epic. Still, creepy. Exactly this describes the setting of Elfen Lied. It is dark, it is frightening yet good. One of the most important things that has to be said is that this anime does not lack in brutality and bloodshed. You really should not ...

Gosick (2011): ANIME REVIEW

Image
See, when I was just a little AnimeGirl I used to watch detective Connan on the TV. Now I found a more interesting, better and more mysterious anime that is kinda the prefect show for all the Anime beginners out there (I even recommended it to my teacher, who is now a great anime lover). Using my fountain of wisdom I will represent you the anime of this review, the Sherlock Holmes of the anime world...Gosick!  Plot and Storyline: This is the type of stories where you have a couple of shorter stories that are not connected with each other at first sight, but become a whole in the end when the makers show you the hidden details on witch you didn't pay attention in the beginning. Sounds hard to understand, but it is not at all. Gosick is an anime where the genres mystery, historical and romance merged together into an awesome story that truly finds a place in your heart.  Now let's set the scene first. We have the year 1924. World War I is over an...

Psycho-Pass (2012) & Psycho-Pass 2 (2014)

Image
It is the sci-fi anime of 2012 and 2014. The genres Sci-fi, Action, Police and Psychological were molten in one pot and out came a drug for your soul. I became highly addicted after a friend recommended me to watch it. I am sure that you will too, after you've watched Psycho-Pass. It is now one of my favorite anime and because the first and second season are basically the same I'll write about both of them in this review. Let's start... Plot and Storyline: This is one of the rare anime I can say that are brilliant. I love the plot, the story, the characters, animation, music....Everything! But let's concentrate for now only on the storyline and plot. It has that step-by-step story development, with no useless story-adds but with a couple of plot twists especially in the end. The end was such a surprise but hey, life is full of surprises. I don't know if it's because of the case investigations that made the anime so interesting (probably is because of th...

Garo: Honoo no Kokuin: ANIME REVIEW

Image
I don't know how familiar you are with the history of medieval Europe, but the happenings in this anime probably don't reflect the whole truth about witch hunt, curses, demons etc. Still you can't deny that this anime has one of the best stories I've ever seen. May I represent a rather new anime that finished airing in 2015, Garo: Honoo no Kokuin.  Plot and Storyline: This is an anime where you really have to say "Nice Job"! The storyline is smooth, no plot holes, no complications and the end is not a mix of unfinished background stories and unrelated events. It is a story about a self-contained character development that gets trough some immense setbacks and obstacles. Furthermore the main character's imperfection results in a dramatic story that truly deserves a rating of 9/10.  Everything begins with the birth of Leon Lewis, son of a Makai Knight and Makai Priest. His mother, the priest ho was told to be a witch, gave birth to Leon during h...

Guilty Crown: ANIME REVIEW

Image
First review request from a good friend of mine, I hope you like it! Imagine this anime as a copy-paste document form Code Geass where the makers just changed the font style and color and maybe added or deleted a few sentences. Unlike other reviews I'll write this one as if we are living in an universe where Code Geass does not exist and just focus on this reviews topic, Guilty Crown. A rating of 7,89 on MAL (My Anime List) is just right to describe the 22-episode-long anime that finished airing in 2012. The pros and cons of this series kinda cancel each other leaving a nice anime with an 35% approximate chance that I'll watch it again. Probably not... Plot and Storyline: I don't know why, but if anime makers mess something up then it's always the end, or in this case the whole second half. Guilty Crown would be much better if it only had the 12 episodes it has in the beginning. The rest is nearly trash. The end was so rushed, the happenings were all so sudden...
